The Wonder, our light-filled pavilion overlooking 14 acres of spruce forest, comfortably holds up to 120 total in attendance for your ceremony and reception. For those staying on-site, we can accommodate up to 29 overnight guests across four handcrafted log chalets.

Our all-inclusive package is designed so you're not piecing together vendors on your own. It includes The Wonder for your rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception; a bridal suite in the Bear Den and a getting-ready space for the groom's party in Captain Cook Lodge; overnight lodging for four guests across the two chalets, with extra guests welcome with and additional per person charge; sound system, lighting, and heat for those crisp Alaska evenings; tables, chairs, linens, and a cake table; fresh floral arrangements; time at our reflection pond for photos; a firepit; mosquito control; parking; and restroom facilities, plus a list of vendors we know and trust. You might want to consider extending this one-day package to two days, if your timing a budget permit. Call us for us for pricing of the options.

Absolutely. We have an excellent caterer that we work with and costs are about what you'd expect to pay at a restaurant. A day-of coordinator is available for a one-time fee. Additional lodging nights or buildings can be added for a wedding party that wants to make a longer stay of it.

Bear Paw Adventure is set on Camai Road near Anchor Point, Alaska, an easy drive from Homer, Kenai, Anchorage or Fairbanks. Your out of state guests can fly into Anchorage and either drive by rental car to Anchor Point or take a short commuter flight to either Kenai or Homer and pick up a rental car there.

Here is how you can check our venue availability. On the Lodges pages of our website; enter a date range that includes your desired wedding date in the Reservation bar at the top of the page. For example, you could enter June 1, 2027 to August 30, 2027 and then click search. Scroll down to the calendar. The venue is available for you on any dates when both the Captain Cook Lodge and the Bear Den Vacation Home are open (not marked out with a red “X”).

Your package reserves the Bear Den and Captain Cook Lodge, the two chalets closest to The Wonder, so your celebration won't have other guests passing through. If you have additional guests who would like to stay overnight on the property, our other two buildings, the Wise Old Hunter Lodge and the Moose Cabin may be available and if you rent those, you would have our entire 14-acre homestead property for your exclusive use.

You'll want to apply once you're here, since it has to be done in person at an Alaska Vital Records or Court office; there's no mail-in option for the standard process. Both Alaska residents and couples visiting from out of state or abroad are welcome to apply. Plan for at least three full business days between applying and your license becoming valid, and know it stays valid for three months, good only for a ceremony performed in Alaska.

We do, and it's one of the things we do best. Weddings aren't an add-on to our adventure offerings, they're built into who we are, with a dedicated pavilion and on-site lodging designed around hosting your celebration from start to finish.

You won't need to. Lodging is part of the wedding package itself, so your wedding party stays right on the property in one of our private log chalets rather than driving in from a hotel elsewhere. Just let us know if you want more than two nights or have additional guests that prefer overnight lodging on the property.

If your group wants to extend the trip, we can help arrange Alaska experiences like halibut or salmon fishing, bear viewing, or flightseeing, marine tours, ATV rides, horseback rides, etc through our travel coordination team. It's entirely optional and kept separate from your wedding package, so it's there if your guests want it. guests want it.
