Group Reservations at Bear Paw Adventure

Bear Paw Adventure’s 14+ acre homestead property and fully equipped log accommodations are a great place for youth and adult camp programs as well as business retreats and family reunions. The property is ideal for:

  • Church camps and retreats
  • Women’s groups
  • School programs
  • College and University travel classes
  • Business meetings, training sessions and housing for corporate events
  • Family reunions
  • Weddings where vows can be spoken in an intimate, pure, natural environment

The property can be contracted as a "facility rental" where you provide the activity program, or as a full service facility in which Bear Paw Adventure will plan your activities as well as lodging. For programs including youth or underage members, you must provide adult supervision and chaperones that will be present at all times.

Ideal Location

Located about 200 miles south of Anchorage on the west side of Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, Bear Paw Adventure offers a uniquely Alaskan, organic experience for youth and adults. The property is easily reached by rental car from Anchorage (4-1/2 hour drive), by bus or air.

This is not a "roughing it" site, but guests will get a real wild Alaska experience. A private property, the current use of the site is the first since the original homestead. Lodging is provided in four real-log buildings, constructed among the wildflowers, alders and spruce trees with care to minimize changes to the natural vegetation.  These are first class, fully equipped log vacation homes.

Lodging

The four uniquely Alaskan, first class log vacation homes and cabins are located on Bear Paw’s 14-acre homestead property, which is sited just north of historic Anchor Point above the bluff over the pristine tidal waters of Cook Inlet.

Amenities

The hand-crafted buildings have full kitchens with cooking equipment and supplies and outdoor BBQ’s so that guests can prepare their own meals and snacks. Alternately food service and local restaurants are available.

The buildings also have private baths, full laundry, phones, satellite TV, towels, bedding, wireless Internet and lots of Alaskan decor, including Alaska big game mounts. In total, the buildings have 24 twin beds and 4 queen beds, so group sizes of up to about 32 can be accommodated – or a few more by use of temporary beds.

Group Activities

On-site activities include Foosball, beach volley ball, badminton, horseshoes, camp fires, gold sluicing. lawn games and picnicking.

This area of Alaska is one of the most scenic locations in the world, with four active volcanoes visible from the bluff looking west across Cook Inlet, and muskeg, glaciers and rugged snow covered peaks to the east and south across Kachemak Bay. Guests can enjoy their stay entirely on the property or they can choose to schedule some time for locally available adventures as well. Bear Paw will be happy to design a custom itinerary specifically for your group. Guests will remember their stay at Bear Paw Adventure as one of their most enjoyable life-time experiences.
