To Get Here

 

By Rental Car from Anchorage (200 mi / 4 hrs)

  • Take Seward Highway south from Anchorage

  • Stop outside of Anchorage at Potter’s Marsh and view birds and wildlife

  • Get underway again early and watch for sheep in the rocks above
    the highway along the water

  • Watch for whales in Turnagain Arm

  • Take the side trip to Portage Glacier

  • Turn right onto the Sterling Highway (Route 1) toward Homer (About 78 mi from Anchorage)

  • Look again for sheep on the right near the Sunrise Inn

  • About one hour south of Soldotna, see Bear Paw Adventure at mile
    marker 155 on the left and turn left onto CAMAI Road

By Commercial Air to Homer

  • Connect with ERA Aviation in Anchorage

  • Pick up rental car at Homer Airport

  • Take the Sterling Highway to Anchor Point (15 mi)

  • See Bear Paw Adventure on the right just north of Anchor Point at mile marker 155 and turn right onto CAMAI Road.
