The Wise Old Hunter Lodge or Moose Cabin is your home
base to return to after a long day on the hiking trails. Or, you might want
to enjoy several days of rugged outdoor camping, and then pamper yourself in
the comfort of the lodge or cabin. Here a few examples of available hiking
and camping near Anchor Point:

Hiking, Camping, Fishing - Kachemak Bay State Park:
One of the largest coastal parks in the US. The park has 21 remote
campsites, five public use cabins (rent at $65 per night) and nearly 90
miles of trails. Accessed by water taxi or air. For information, call the
District Ranger Station at 907 235 7024, or visit the office located about
four miles north of Homer on the Sterling Highway. You can also check with

information.

Hiking: Beach walks are a great way to enjoy the
fresh air. A good take off point is the end of the Anchor River Beach
Road. Be aware of the tides and plan to spend most of your time on the
beach at or near low tide. The US Fish and Wildlife offers guided walks
and talks all summer. Call 907 235 5961 for information.

Hiking: The 6-mile long Homestead Trail starts at a
well marked trail head on Rogers Loop Road. You will find Rogers Loop
where it connects with the Sterling Highway at the top of Baycrest Hill,
just north of Homer.
