The Kenai Peninsula and especially Anchor Point and Homer are a birder’s
delight. Planning is currently in progress for the 16th annual Kachemak Bay
Shorebird Festival, which will be held on May 8 – 11, 2008. The Keynote
Speaker is Richard Crossle. Hundreds of thousands of shorebirds, representing
over 25 species from as far as Asia, Hawaii and South America are
expected. Be sure to stay at the Moose Cabin or the Wise Old Hunter Lodge.
Bird feeding stations are located around the Lodge and Cabin to assure
plenty of sightings and photo opportunities from the decks. For more information on the Shorebird Festival and other information, please review these sites - www.homeralaska.org/shorebird.htm\ www.birdinghomeralaska.org www.birding.alaska.gov (information on “Wings over Alaska”) Then, come back here. The lodge or cabin at Bear Paw Adventure is your home base for the Shorebird Festival or for birding during other times of the year. You will enjoy sightings from the comfort of the open decks of the lodge or cabin. |
